A Day in the life of....

Natalie! I thought I'd blog about Natalie today since the time with her seems to be going faster than ever! She is 19 months old. Yes, she does drives me bonkers, but I wouldn't have it any other way. She also keeps me laughing all along the way! We were playing in her room after putting Brenna on the bus for school. Natalie just loves watching for it, and will start yelling "bu,bu, bu" as soon as it comes around the corner. It's so fascinating to just sit and watch a toddler, and see her amazement and curiosity at the slightest things. She has gone from crying when someone looked at her the wrong way, to saying hello to everyone within her sight! Her personality is really blooming, and I can't wait to see what another 6 months and her turning 2 will bring! She is talking more and more, and tries to copy a lot of what we say. She loves being outside, and I'm really looking forward to some fun time with the girls this summer.

Her precious little hand.
She knows I want her to look at the camera, but she did her little sly grin instead!
Lots of fun with the curtains.
I see you!

I love this one! I think she looks like such a big girl.

Ridem' cowgirl.

Looking at all of the "tucks" that go by.
Look at that grace and form!

Pedi time!

Brenna wanted me to paint her nails tonight. She hasn't asked me to do it in awhile, so I was looking forward to it. Natalie was very interested, and as soon as I was finished with Brenna's toes she gave me some polish and started pointing to her toes! Anyone that knows Natalie knows she doesn't sit still. She did very well though while I painted her nails. She just laughed when we were finished! I just love my two beautiful, very different girls!

Ready for spring!

New Camera!

I finally bought a new camera. I've been wanting one for awhile, but it's so hard to decide on which one is best. I went with a Nikon Coolpix L110. It's not a SLR, but it has a lot of different features, so I think it's actually going to be a nice transition when I do buy one. I love the up close setting, and it has a really neat continuous sport option. It will take 10-15 action shots at one time. Ben and Brenna were playing soccer the other night so I got to try it out. That will definitely come in handy when Brenna starts playing again this fall. I feel like I'm already getting better at using it. Practice makes perfect!

How do you like that shot?!

I don't think they can deny they are sisters!

Thunder over Louisville

We decided to go down to Indiana this weekend for Thunder over Louisville. It's a huge firework display and one of the opening festivities for Derby. My parents offered to watch Natalie. I thought it would be way too long of a day for her, even though she probably would have loved the fireworks. Hopefully we can take her next year. We went with Ben's parents, and we met up with his aunt and uncle. They had a spot reserved with their camper. We had lots of good food and didn't have to use the port-o-pots! We walked up to the flood wall to watch the display, so we had an awesome view. After it was over we waited for 2 hours by the fire pit for all the traffic to clear! There were thousands of people so we knew we were in for a long wait. We finally got in bed at about 1 a.m., but we had a blast!

Twinkle Toes

Brenna has been wanting a pair of Sketchers twinkle toe shoes. They are decorated in rhinestones and they light up. I found out the hard way they are a very desirable item right now! She has never really asked for anything that specific, so we were on a mission to find them! I went into Shoe Carnival on Monday and they said they would have another truck coming in on Thursday. Brenna decided to wait and see if she could get a pair that lit up. We went back in on Thursday afternoon and they hadn't unloaded the kids section yet. I was thinking, "Why am I doing this?"! Emily and I were headed out for our girls night that evening, so I told Brenna I would check one more time. She was in luck! I finally found them for her. Emily thought we should take them back to the house, and surprise her with them before she was in bed for the night. She was very happy and has been wearing them everyday!

Good times!

We were so lucky to have a visit from our friends, Ben and Emily, and their new baby girl Ayana! Ayana is 6 weeks old and Ben just happened to get an interview in Dayton so the timing couldn't have been better! We had a great time just hanging out and enjoying spending time together. Ben and Ben had a guys night, and Emily and I also got to go out and enjoy some shopping and dessert at the Greene! Ayana is so cute, and is the happiest baby I've ever met! She only cried when she was hungry and both Brenna and Natalie really enjoyed having her here. Brenna loved holding her and helping feed and bathe her. Natalie was fascinated there was someone smaller than her! She wanted to help feed Ayana, always made sure her pacifier was handy, and probably said "baby" at least a thousand times! We are so praying they are able to move back here this summer from Georgia. We miss them greatly! It's always nice to be able to spend such a special time with awesome friends!
